Here is what that does for each one. Fish Spatula The thin, tapered edge slides under a fillet and lifts it whole, skin and all. It does the same for a fried egg or a smashed potato. Tongs Press the tips against the counter and they lock, one-handed, while the other hand holds the plate. The edges grip without trapping food in the frame. Whisk The weight sits in the handle, so it rests on the rim of the bowl instead of sliding in, and your wrist does less of the work. Ladle Light enough to hold through a whole pot of soup, with a pouring channel that gets the last of it into the bowl, not down the side. Off-Set Spatula New to the Set. The dropped blade lifts delicate things flat, a soft egg, a slice of tart, a piece of fish, without folding them.
